The Danbury House has had a long and colorful history. Once a hotel, back in the day when the train stopped at the foot of the hill, and Danbury supplied food to Boston and Concord. Then the house became a dairy farm and had the first telephone exchange in town. After the farmer and his wife passed on the house was inherited by a woman who spent her summers in a camper and left the house alone. So it sat for many years. Fortunately the owners before us put on the metal roof, otherwise the house would have been a ruin. When we bought it we knew we had our work cut for us but we were excited save the house through restoration. Our intention had been keep as much as the atmosphere of the passing years as we could.
